Cincinnati launches grant program to support community-led green projects

Cincinnati, Ohio – The City of Cincinnati’s Office of Environment and Sustainability, in collaboration with the Greater Cincinnati Foundation, is thrilled to announce the opening of the Green Cincinnati Plan Seeds of Change Grant Program. This initiative seeks to fund projects that contribute to a more sustainable, equitable, and resilient Cincinnati, with a particular focus on assisting those most impacted by climate change.

Get Involved: Workshop and Office Hours

To ensure potential applicants have all the information they need, a Pre-Application Workshop will be held on Thursday, March 14th, from 5:30 to 7:00 pm at the Price Hill Branch Library, Room 212, located at 970 Purcell Avenue. Additionally, Drop-in Office Hours will be available for one-on-one guidance and questions regarding the application process:

  • Wednesday, March 20th, from 10 am to 12 pm at the Price Hill Branch Library Study Room 110, 970 Purcell Avenue
  • Wednesday, April 3rd, from 9 am to 12 pm at Working in Neighborhoods, 3726 Llewellyn Ave

Organizations interested in applying can request up to $20,000 to support their community-initiated projects that align with the priorities of the Green Cincinnati Plan. The application deadline is set for April 30, 2024, by 11:59 PM, with the review and approval process running from May 1st to June 14th. Award/decline notification will be sent to applicants by June 15, 2024. Final grant reports are due by January 31, 2025.
