Family Dollar is closing dozens of stores across Ohio starting this weekend

Ohio – This weekend, more than 30 Family Dollar locations in Ohio will shut down for good. A notification from the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services indicates that five of these stores are in the Valley area. Specifically, the stores in Austintown, Boardman, Beloit, East Liverpool, and New Middletown will close permanently beginning Saturday.

Here are the addresses of the stores that are closing:

  • Austintown : 4450 Mahoning Avenue
  • Boardman : 8578 Market Street
  • Beloit : 15978 Cleveland East Liverpool Road
  • East Liverpool : 615 Walnut Street
  • New Middletown : 11045 Main Street

The letter also mentions that Family Dollar is planning to offer alternative job positions at other nearby locations to any employees who are interested. Across the state, these closures will result in about 265 layoffs, affecting a total of 35 Family Dollar stores throughout Ohio.
